adidas: Exploring the Terrex Line

I was given the opportunity to review adidas products. These were gifted to me, but the content and opinions expressed are my own.

When I was asked to try some gear from adidas, I was thrilled. I had purchased myself several items from adidas, but it was all general workout gear and I had never gotten the chance to test out their hiking gear–especially their Terrex line which is specifically geared for heading outdoors.

Here are some of the things I found trying out their products.

I thoroughly enjoyed testing out outdoor gear from adidas. Here’s what I found when trying out some of their products.

The quality rivals other outdoor brands

I honestly didn’t know what to expect when I ordered some items online. I decided to go with a number of different options ranging from trail running shoes to hats so I could test them out in a variety of settings and in a number of different activities.

What I found was that no matter which product I used, from the Terrex Xperior Hiking Shorts to the Terrex Tech Fleece Light Hooded Hiking Jacket, the quality was in line with other brands I had used in the past. I was a little concerned about whether or not a company more known for indoor athletic gear could keep up with brands I knew and loved, but the quality of the materials and designs were right on par.

You know it’s coming from a quality company

As mentioned before, while adidas might not be known for their outdoor gear, they are known for providing quality products in other areas. I was not surprised at all to see that the Terrex line lived up to what I had come to expect from adidas in the past.

Everything I ordered felt right in line with other adidas products I had used and loved in the past. The hiking shirts I chose fit perfectly and provided the moisture-wicking I needed hiking during hot days in Glacier National Park. 

Likewise, I loved the materials used for their Eastrail 2.0 Hiking Shoes. I’m normally 100% into hiking with boots, but I found that these were ideal for trails that didn’t need intense gear. Plus, they were super lightweight and comfortable, which made me completely rethink about whether or not I should wear boots on similar hikes in the future.

Worth the price

As to be expected from adidas, the items that I ordered were not low quality, which made them a little more expensive than some gear you can find from lesser-quality brands. Price point was about the same as some of the other major companies I’ve bought gear from in the past, and that was a direct reflection of what to expect when you put the items on.

Materials from the Terrex line were also ones that I would expect from competitors, so I didn’t need to worry about paying more for something that might not hold up on the trail. Overall, I felt like those prices were more than fair for what I was getting or what I would pay from another company.

So many options

The thing that surprised me the most about the outdoor gear from adidas? The number of options available. I logged onto the site thinking that there would be one or two options for women’s hiking shoes, only to discover that there were way more options available than I could have imagined.

Some included ankle support, some were waterproof, and some included materials from Gore-Tex that would provide additional support for the soles of your feet. I almost had trouble deciding which option for shoes would be best for me because there were so many and you could have had a number of them depending on what kind of activities you like to do.

The Terrex line was so much more robust than I knew, which means that there is a little something for everyone. Whether you are looking to round out some items for your hiking gear or you need to start from scratch, you can find it on the adidas website. They even have high-quality climbing shoes!

Conclusion

I was thrilled to discover that adidas had an outdoor line and that it directly met my expectations. I loved knowing that the gear I had ordered would be reliable and fun to wear–I got so many compliments on my hiking hats and shirts while I was out.

I would definitely consider looking into their products for future hikes and outfitting my wardrobe with a few new items from the Terrex line, as well as recommending them to anyone who loves quality gear and that comes with a name we all know and love.
