Tips for Boulder hotels
Here are some tips I have for staying in Boulder and what you need to know before you book your hotels.
- Outdoor exploration: Boulder is renowned for its abundance of outdoor activities. Be sure to pack clothing and gear suitable for hiking near Boulder, biking, or rock climbing, depending on your interests. The Flatirons are iconic and offer trails for all skill levels, while Boulder Creek Path is perfect for a leisurely bike ride or walk.
- Hotel location: Choose your hotel based on your primary interests. If you want easy access to nature, look for accommodations near Chautauqua Park or Pearl Street for a more city-centered experience. Remember, Boulder is quite pedestrian-friendly, so even without a car, you can get around easily.
- Altitude adjustment: Keep in mind that Boulder is at a high elevation, around 5,430 feet above sea level. This can affect visitors who are not used to such heights, potentially causing altitude sickness. Stay hydrated, limit alcohol intake, and give your body time to adjust.
- Sustainable travel: Boulder is a city that values environmental sustainability. Respect local efforts by practicing green travel habits. This can be as simple as bringing a reusable water bottle, supporting local businesses, or choosing to bike or walk instead of driving.
- Local cuisine: Boulder is known for its farm-to-table dining and craft breweries. Be sure to explore the local culinary scene. The Boulder Farmers Market is a great place to start, and don’t miss out on tasting locally brewed beer.
